Born and raised in London, Ontario, Kirsten attended St. Michael’s Elementary School and Catholic Central High School before attending the University of New Brunswick where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Arts. Her major was Political Science and her minor concentration was Economics, creating a solid foundation for public policy.
After her studies, she moved to Ottawa where she worked as a parliamentary staffer in a Minister’s office, then in the Prime Minister’s office before moving to New Brunswick to work for the Government of New Brunswick as a Communications Officer.
While working and living in Fredericton, she met her future husband Steven, while he was on course at CFB Gagetown. He returned home to Pembroke, Ontario with her and they married the following year. Upon returning to Ontario, Kirsten decided to follow her passion and pursue a career in real estate.
